O’Flynn Exhams advises on sale of former Ford Distribution Site

Partner Aeibhin Cahalan, who works on the O’Flynn Exhams’ Real Estate team, recently acted on behalf of a Receiver on the sale by NAMA of the pivotal Cork Docklands Site, which sold for in excess of €15m.

The sale involved the transfer of the entire Docklands site to a sole Purchaser, with the intention of developing it for residential use and other municipal interests. The Ford Distribution Site is close to the recently revamped Pairc Uí Chaoimh stadium. The new Marina Park public amenity, next to the stadium in Monaghan Road, is currently being developed by Cork City Council.

The sale of the Former Ford Distribution site generated considerable domestic and international developer interest as it represented an opportunity of a scale in Cork that is set to transform the landscape over the next 10 to 15 years.
