Cope Foundations’ annual Golf Classic, sponsored by O’Flynn Exhams Solicitors, took place last Thursday 17th and Friday 18th September at Monkstown Golf Club.
This fundraiser generates much-needed funds for people with intellectual disabilities and/or autism across Cork city and county to live ‘Your Life Your Way’. Considering the devastating impact Covid-19 is having on fundraising, this event has never been more important to the Cork based charity.
The Hole-in-One competition was sponsored by Ireland’s Largest Mitsubishi Dealer – Dan Seaman Forge Hill Cork. The winner of the Longest Drive competition was Gearoid Fitzgerald and Deirdre O’Hanlon, sponsored by Carbery Group. The winner of the Nearest The Pin competition was won by Elaine Hickey, (who also achieved a hole in one at the 13th Hole) sponsored by C. Field Construction.
Funds raised by this year’s Golf Classic will help Cope Foundation achieve their goal of purchasing an independent living facility here in Cork which will be used to teach people they support the skills they need to live independently – an exciting and vital programme to have.
